What it does
When a quote or load needs a number, the rep is otherwise pricing the lane from memory and a handful of stale rate cons, with no fast read of what comparable freight actually moved at. Rating & Routing prices the lane against comparable past shipments held in the shipment knowledge graph and the carriers available to cover it, then builds the final quote and routing directly in the TMS. Every rate is anchored to what similar lanes, equipment, and dates settled at, so the rep gets a defensible number and a routing plan instead of a blank spreadsheet to fill in.
When it runs
It fires the moment a quote is opened or an existing load needs pricing, reading the lane, equipment, and dates already structured from the request.
Impact
Pricing anchored to comparable lanes in the shipment knowledge graph ends the guesswork that leaks margin: reps stop quoting low to feel safe and stop quoting high and losing coverage, because the number reflects what that freight has actually moved at. Routing is built against the carriers genuinely available to cover, so the rate the rep commits to holds when it is time to tender. Margin gets protected on each quote instead of decided by whoever the rep happened to remember.
